About me
Lincoln Marquis, a distinguished chef and culinary educator, brings over 18 years of industry experience and 16 years in education. Trained in classic culinary arts, he began his career in hotel kitchens before transitioning to teaching in 2008. As a Culinary Arts Instructor at Bridging Communities Regional Technical Center in New Kent, Virginia, he has pioneered apprenticeship-style programs that prepare students for culinary careers.
Passionate about sustainable cuisine, food waste reduction, and diverse culinary education, Lincoln has earned grants from the Ment’or BKB Foundation and the James Beard Foundation. He showcased his expertise internationally at the MAD5 Conference in Copenhagen, leading a discussion on nurturing young culinary talent.
Beyond the classroom, he serves as an educator liaison on the board of the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging, and Tourism Association Education Foundation. His accolades include the Virginia Department of Education’s CTE Creating Excellence Award and the Virginia Chefs Association’s President’s Award.
As a member of the first Kids Feeding Kids Fellowship Academy, Lincoln aims to expand food accessibility programs among high school educators in Virginia. His hands-on teaching approach and dedication to community engagement continue to inspire students and strengthen local ties.
